THE LAST DAYS, THE LAST TIME, THE LAST TIMES:
WHAT TIME PERIOD DO THESE REPRESENT?

    There seems to be confusion among some as to what time period these words represent. The following verses should help.

    Gen 49:1-JACOB CALLED...AND SAID...I MAY TELL YOU THAT WHICH SHALL BEFALL YOU IN THE LAST DAYS.
    Isa 2:2-AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS IN THE LAST DAYS, THAT THE MOUNTAIN OF THE LORD’S HOUSE SHALL BE ESTABLISHED IN THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAINS.
    Mic 4:1-IN THE LAST DAYS IT SHALL COME TO PASS, THAT THE MOUNTAIN OF THE HOUSE OF THE LORD SHALL BE ESTABLISHED IN THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAINS.
    Acts 2:17-AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS IN THE LAST DAYS, SAITH GOD, I WILL POUR OUT OF MY SPIRIT UPON ALL FLESH.

    2 Tim 3:1-THIS KNOW ALSO, THAT IN THE LAST DAYS PERILOUS TIMES SHALL COME.
    Heb 1:2-(God) HATH IN THESE LAST DAYS SPOKEN UNTO US BY HIS SON.
    Ja 5:3-YE HAVE HEAPED TREASURE TOGETHER FOR THE LAST DAYS.
    2 Pe 3:3-KNOWING THIS FIRST, THAT THERE SHALL COME IN THE LAST DAYS SCOFFERS, WALKING AFTER THEIR OWN LUSTS.

    1 Pe 1:5-WHO ARE KEPT BY THE POWER OF GOD THROUGH FAITH UNTO SALVATION READY TO BE REVEALED IN THE LAST TIME.
    1 Jn 2:18-IT IS THE LAST TIME: AND AS YE HAVE HEARD THAT ANTICHRIST SHALL COME, EVEN NOW ARE THERE MANY ANTICHRISTS; WHEREBY WE KNOW THAT IT IS THE LAST TIME.
    Jude 18-HOW THAT THEY TOLD YOU THERE SHOULD BE MOCKERS IN THE LAST TIME, WHO SHOULD WALK AFTER THEIR OWN UNGODLY LUSTS.
    1 Pe 1:20-(Jesus) WHO VERILY WAS FOREORDAINED BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD, BUT WAS MANIFEST IN THESE LAST TIMES FOR YOU.
    "The last days, last times, and last time" phrases appear to cover the period from the first coming of Jesus up to and including the Millennium. No other verse dealing with "the last days," etc., appears to exist in the Bible pertaining to a period prior to Jesus’ first coming or following the Millennium.

THE TIME OF THE END: WHAT TIME PERIOD DOES THIS MEAN?

    Dan 8:17-O SON OF MAN: FOR AT THE TIME OF THE END SHALL BE THE VISION. The vision dealt mainly with the time just prior to the Tribulation through Armageddon.
    Dan 8:19-AND HE SAID, BEHOLD, I WILL MAKE THEE KNOW WHAT SHALL BE IN THE LAST END OF THE INDIGNATION: FOR AT THE TIME APPOINTED THE END SHALL BE. The vision dealt mainly with the time just prior to the Tribulation through Armageddon.
    Dan 11:35-AND SOME OF THEM OF UNDERSTANDING SHALL FALL, TO TRY THEM, AND TO PURGE, AND TO MAKE THEM WHITE, EVEN TO THE TIME OF THE END: BECAUSE IT IS YET FOR A TIME APPOINTED. The time, here, appears to be referring to the Tribulation.
    Dan 11:40-AND AT THE TIME OF THE END SHALL THE KING OF THE SOUTH PUSH AT HIM: AND THE KING OF THE NORTH SHALL COME AGAINST HIM LIKE A WHIRLWIND, WITH CHARIOTS, AND WITH HORSEMEN, AND WITH MANY SHIPS; AND HE SHALL ENTER INTO THE COUNTRIES, AND SHALL OVERFLOW AND PASS OVER. The time, here, appears to be referring to the Tribulation.
    Dan 12:4-BUT THOU, O DANIEL, SHUT UP THE WORDS, AND SEAL THE BOOK, EVEN TO THE TIME OF THE END: MANY SHALL RUN TO AND FRO, AND KNOWLEDGE SHALL BE INCREASED.
    Dan 12:4. BUT THOU, O DANIEL, SHUT (or close) UP THE WORDS, AND SEAL THE (words of the) BOOK (or scroll), EVEN TO THE TIME OF THE END. These prophecies are to be sealed and preserved to "the time of the end." This seems to denote the period from the earlier part of the twentieth century through Armageddon. For the most part, it is referring to the time that the Antichrist comes forth until his prophesied end. This sealed prophecy of Daniel appears to have remained so, not being understood until the first half of the twentieth century. Today, much of it is understood, but not completely. Complete understanding of all of these verses apparently has not yet been given by the Lord. As we get closer to the end, more will be revealed. (Ref Dan 12:9.) MANY SHALL RUN TO AND FRO (or here and there). These prophecies concern the generation in which we are living. People are traveling at an unprecedented rate, through the use of automobiles, jet planes, and other means. This also continues during the Tribulation. AND KNOWLEDGE SHALL BE INCREASED. Knowledge in this latter day generation is rapidly increasing. Computers and worldwide communication networks are all aiding in what may be called the "knowledge explosion." Understanding of prophecy has also increased as events of the latter days unfold and as God has given more insight into His Word of prophecy.
    The meaning of these prophecies appear to have remained sealed until some time in the early twentieth century.
    Based on these Scriptures, the term "time of the end" seems to denote a period beginning sometime in the earlier part of the twentieth century and lasting to the time of Armageddon. It is therefore referring to the period dating from the early 1900's up to and including the return of Jesus Christ.

LATTER DAY, THE LATTER DAYS, THE LATTER YEARS, THE LATTER TIME, THE LATTER TIMES:WHAT TIME PERIOD DO THESE REPRESENT?

    Job 19:25-I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVETH, AND THAT HE SHALL STAND AT THE LATTER DAY UPON THE EARTH.
    Num 24:14-I WILL ADVERTISE THEE WHAT THIS PEOPLE SHALL DO TO THY PEOPLE IN THE LATTER DAYS.
    Deut 4:30-WHEN THOU ART IN TRIBULATION, AND ALL THESE THINGS ARE COME UPON THEE, EVEN IN THE LATTER DAYS, IF THOU TURN TO THE LORD THY GOD.
    Deut 31:29-EVIL WILL BEFALL YOU IN THE LATTER DAYS.
    Jere 23:20-THE ANGER OF THE LORD SHALL NOT RETURN, UNTIL HE HAVE EXECUTED, AND TILL HE HAVE PERFORMED THE THOUGHTS OF HIS HEART: IN THE LATTER DAYS YE SHALL CONSIDER IT PERFECTLY.
    Jere 30:24-THE FIERCE ANGER OF THE LORD SHALL NOT RETURN, UNTIL HE HAVE DONE IT, AND UNTIL HE HAVE PERFORMED THE INTENTS OF HIS HEART: IN THE LATTER DAYS YE SHALL CONSIDER IT.
    Jere 48:47-YET WILL I BRING AGAIN THE CAPTIVITY OF MOAB IN THE LATTER DAYS.
    Jere 49:39-BUT IT SHALL COME TO PASS IN THE LATTER DAYS, THAT I WILL BRING AGAIN THE CAPTIVITY OF ELAM, SAITH THE LORD.
    Ezek 38:16-AND THOU SHALT COME UP AGAINST MY PEOPLE OF ISRAEL, AS A CLOUD TO COVER THE LAND; IT SHALL BE IN THE LATTER DAYS.
    Dan 2:28-BUT THERE IS A GOD IN HEAVEN THAT REVEALETH SECRETS, AND MAKETH KNOWN TO THE KING NEBUCHADNEZZAR WHAT SHALL BE IN THE LATTER DAYS.
    Dan 10:14-NOW I AM COME TO MAKE THEE UNDERSTAND WHAT SHALL BEFALL THY PEOPLE (Israel) IN THE LATTER DAYS: FOR YET THE VISION IS FOR MANY DAYS. The last part of this verse indicates that the term "latter days" would be a time period that would occur a long time into the future from Daniel’s time.
    Hos 3:5-AFTERWARD SHALL THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL RETURN, AND SEEK THE LORD THEIR GOD, AND DAVID THEIR KING; AND SHALL FEAR THE LORD AND HIS GOODNESS IN THE LATTER DAYS.
    Ezek 38:8-AFTER MANY DAYS THOU SHALT BE VISITED: IN THE LATTER YEARS THOU SHALT COME INTO THE LAND THAT IS BROUGHT BACK FROM THE SWORD, AND IS GATHERED OUT OF MANY PEOPLE, AGAINST THE MOUNTAINS OF ISRAEL, WHICH HAVE BEEN ALWAYS WASTE: BUT IT IS BROUGHT FORTH OUT OF THE NATIONS, AND THEY SHALL DWELL SAFELY ALL OF THEM.
    Dan 8:23-AND IN THE LATTER TIME OF THEIR KINGDOM, WHEN THE TRANSGRESSORS ARE COME TO THE FULL, A KING OF FIERCE COUNTENANCE, AND UNDERSTANDING DARK SENTENCES, SHALL STAND UP.
    1 Tim 4:1-NOW THE SPIRIT SPEAKETH EXPRESSLY, THAT IN THE LATTER TIMES SOME SHALL DEPART FROM THE FAITH, GIVING HEED TO SEDUCING SPIRITS, AND DOCTRINES OF DEVILS.
    The latter day, latter days, latter years, latter time, and latter times appear to represent the period from the rebirth of Israel through the Millennium. No other verse dealing with "the latter days," etc., appears to be in the Bible, pertaining to a period prior to Israel’s rebirth, or after the Millennium. The Scriptures are giving us very explicit events that will happen during this specific time.

THE LAST DAY

    Jn 6:39-ALL OF WHICH HE HATH GIVEN ME I SHOULD LOSE NOTHING, BUT SHOULD RAISE IT UP AGAIN AT THE LAST DAY.
    Jn 6:40-I WILL RAISE HIM UP AT THE LAST DAY.
    Jn 6:44-I WILL RAISE HIM UP AT THE LAST DAY.
    Jn 6:54-I WILL RAISE HIM UP AT THE LAST DAY.
    Jn 11:24-MARTHA SAITH UNTO HIM, I KNOW THAT HE SHALL RISE AGAIN IN THE RESURRECTION AT THE LAST DAY.
    Jn 12:48-HE THAT REJECTETH ME, AND RECEIVETH NOT MY WORDS, HATH ONE THAT JUDGETH HIM: THE WORD THAT I HAVE SPOKEN, THE SAME SHALL JUDGE HIM IN THE LAST DAY.
    The "last day" as used in these verses is the day of the resurrection.
    In addition, it also denotes the day of the judgment of the unsaved—the ones that reject Jesus and will not receive His Word.

THE END TIMES

    The actual terms "END TIME" or "END TIMES" are not used in the King James Bible.
